The Library is operated by The Indie Author’s Advocate (“we,” “us,” or “our”) at library.theindieauthorsadvocate.com. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you browse, buy a book box, join a book club, or list as an author — and how we use it.

Information we collect

We collect information you give us directly, including your name, email address, shipping address, order details, and any messages you send. Authors who register or list with us also provide account and profile information. We automatically collect standard technical information (browser, device, and pages visited) through cookies and analytics.

Payments

Payments are processed by Stripe. Your full card number is entered on Stripe’s secure systems and is not stored by us; we receive only limited confirmation details such as the billing name, the last four digits, and whether the payment succeeded. Stripe’s handling of your data is governed by its own privacy policy.

Shipping

To deliver your book box, we share your name and shipping address with our fulfillment and shipping carriers. They use this information only to complete delivery.

Email newsletters

If you subscribe to our reader newsletter, we manage those sign-ups and mailings through MailerLite. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link at the bottom of any email.

How we use your information

We use your information to process and ship orders, manage author listings and book clubs, send updates and newsletters you have asked to receive, respond to your questions, prevent fraud, and improve the Library. We do not sell your personal information.

How we share information

We share information only with trusted providers who help us operate — our website host, our payment processor (Stripe), shipping and fulfillment partners, our email provider (MailerLite), and analytics tools — and only as needed to provide those services. We may also disclose information if required by law.

Cookies and analytics

We use cookies and analytics to understand traffic and improve your experience. You can control cookies through your browser settings and any cookie banner shown on the site.

Data retention and security

We keep personal information only as long as necessary for the purposes described here, including order records we are required to retain, and we take reasonable measures to protect it. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Your choices and rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information at any time by emailing us. You can also unsubscribe from marketing emails using the link in those emails.

Colorado privacy rights

If you are a Colorado resident, the Colorado Privacy Act gives you the right to confirm whether we process your personal data, to access and correct it, to request its deletion, to obtain a portable copy, and to opt out of the sale of personal data or targeted advertising. We do not sell your personal data. To exercise these rights, email us and we will respond as required by law.

Children’s privacy

The Library is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated date.
